There are autobiographical traces everywhere in Wolfgang Herrndorf's work. There is no picture that he painted, no cartoon that he scribbled, no book that he wrote in which he did not process what he had experienced since he looked up at the sky from his room in Garstedt in northern Germany as a small boy. Herrndorf's childhood view of the world accompanied him throughout his life. Perhaps that was the secret of his great success; it was certainly the secret of his classic "Tschick".
FAZ journalist and author Tobias Rüther(Herrndorf. A Biography) takes us on a road trip through the life and the pictures and stories of the exceptional artist Wolfgang Herrndorf. Sandra Hüller reads from the work of the writer, who died far too young but left the world unforgettable stories. His own is one of them.
