Things are going haywire at the Zum weißen Rössl inn on Lake Wolfgangsee: Head waiter Leopold pines for his boss Josepha, but she only has eyes for the charming Dr. Siedler. Meanwhile, guests, lovers and a belligerent factory owner get caught up in a chaotic mess full of misunderstandings, intrigue and plenty of heartache. In the end, the confusion is resolved - and everyone finds their happy ending, including a good dose of Alpine romance and a wink.

The Waggonhalle presents "Im weißen Rössl" in the "Berlin version", which is regarded as a satirical self-parody of the genre. The Waggonhalle's production is certainly more minimalist than the classic operetta, but it is courageous, because it is not at all stingy with kitsch and romance. But what is kitsch and where does trash begin?

And anyway: "What can Sigismund do that he ..." - You know what I mean!
