Café zur Gitti is a contemporary circus and performance project that blends elements of a concert, sound theater, and object manipulation. Inspired by the Viennese “Beisl,” the piece tells the story of the “little people”—of loss, longing, community, and the quiet wonders of everyday life—with dark humor, music, and magic. Objects typical of a Beisl become juggling props and sound instruments, as Viennese folk songs meet the sounds of tables and glasses. A poetic, humorous, and touching homage to a social microcosm that brings humanity to light.
