Indie.Cologne.Fest turns 12!

And here is finally the REMINDER for the unfortunately weather-related, canceled Indie.Cologne.Fest 12th (Open Air) on Sun. 21.09.25. in Odonien.

As already announced, this time it's off to the cozy warmth, with dry feet.

To accommodate all the acts, there will now be 2 evenings.

Tickets already purchased remain valid (for both evenings).

The party will take place on 3 and 4.12.25 in our favorite underground club Subway in the Belgian Veedel. Thanks for the invitation ❤️

The 12th edition will once again focus more on the locals, who will perform a colorful mix of singer/songwriter, indie rock, dreampop, indie hip-hop, electronic and post-punk on 2 evenings.

☆Fovos Alif☆

... is an uncompromising post-punk duo from Cologne that fuses noise, reverb and attitude into a relentless force of sound. Guitar, drums, voice - that's all it takes to create a sound that is driven by anger, romanticism and resistance. Their songs are not polished artifacts, but fragile, wild constructions - as ephemeral as the best current UK post-punk drafts, as raw as 4-track demos and as emotionally charged as a first recording by Steve Albini.

They've just been to Haldern Pop Festival 2025, their debut EP was released on vinyl in 2022 and recorded at the legendary Haldern Studio. New tracks and an accompanying music video are coming in August 2025 - raw, visually consistent and anchored in the present.

They are not a product of the music industry - they are its antithesis. Their origins lie in post-punk, but their sound aesthetic goes far beyond that: dark, powerful, uncompromising. No songs for the playlist, no gigs to tick off - every show is a manifesto against stagnation. Fovos Alif don't play to please. They play to stay.

The power lies in reduction: as with the White Stripes, Royal Blood or the early Suicide, the minimalist setup acts like an amplifier for maximum effect. Somewhere between noise, spoken word and melancholy, their sound is reminiscent of Black Midi, Parquet Courts or Black Country, New Road - but always speaks with their own urgent voice.

...from Cologne is not reinventing the singer/songwriter wheel and has no interest in doing so. Perhaps it's simply not possible to come up with the hottest shit or the mouthpiece of a generation if your first musical influences included Danny Dziuk, Stoppok and Rio Reiser and you have a relatively unironic love of pop. Instead, freda writes minor-key lyrics with a few major chords that still allow some optimism to shimmer through the winter depression.

Release show for the new album "forma " (staatsakt) to be released in September

Stefanie Schrank is a visual artist and member of the Cologne-based indie rock band Locas In Love. With her first solo album Unter der Haut eine überhitzte Fabrik from 2019, she began to assemble her sophisticated pop from analog synthesizers and angular, elegant grooves. Her highly acclaimed debut was celebrated in the press, not least by Jens Balzer in DIE ZEIT, who described it as "the pop debut of the year, rich and big and of restless sublimity". 2024, a pandemic later, was followed by the mini-album Schlachtrufe BRD, on which "Schrank channels this spirit of resistance absorbed in the nineties into her own sound cosmos, an electronic pop influenced by Krautrock and Kraftwerk .... It could hardly be more radical" (Andreas Borcholte, Spiegel Online). Now, exactly six years to the day after their debut, their second longplayer Forma is finally being released.
The focus is on synth sounds that take the musical heritage of German electronic music and Krautrock and spin it forward to create a completely independent soundscape. Condensed and precise, full of cinematic sound descents, voluptuous melodies, club rhythms and pointed lyrics, Forma shows that Stefanie Schrank combines pop and experimentation with great consistency.
After numerous concerts and work as a songwriter and producer (for Andreas Dorau, among others), her electronic sophisti-pop 2025 is as brilliant, fresh and future-oriented as science fiction from an unclear time.

...play guitar-heavy energy indie that fans of Placebo, DIIV and early Coldplay would also celebrate, weaving together elements from a wide variety of styles to create their own signature style. Thematically, their lyrics move between rom-com and coming-of-age drama. Their musical language is both recognizable and multifaceted. After a series of sold-out concerts in her hometown of Cologne, she released her first EP "Elliptical Patterns" in January 2025.

The compositions with their extraordinary lyrics and crazy musical ideas always sparkle:

When "the cow sets the farm on fire" and the next moment the band and audience are dancing "Samba on Mars" together, you just dive in. By the time the fishy "Koi Boys" appear, everyone has sunk deep into the ShoppingVenture cosmos and doesn't want to return to the surface any time soon.

THE DIRECTION? FORWARD!

Go through the middle and change what you don't like. And if it doesn't work, well, you tried. Trying is ShoppingVenture's specialty anyway.

The four musicians from Cologne always manage to reinvent each other and take concepts further.
Ideas are reorganized, rearranged, thrown overboard and ultimately an impressive live show emerges that is bursting with surprises.
