The Academy's museums are taking part in the day of action. The original preserved apartments of Bertolt Brecht, Helene Weigel and Anna Seghers can be visited on free guided tours.

Bertolt Brecht lived in his apartment in Chausseestraße from 1953 until his death in 1956. His proximity to the Berliner Ensemble, the Academy and the historic cemeteries next door were the main reasons why he moved into the apartment, which also houses his estate library with around 4,000 volumes.

During Brecht's lifetime, Helene Weigel lived in rooms on the second floor of the side wing, which she made available to the Bertolt Brecht Archive, which she founded, after Brecht's death. She had a veranda leading to the garden added and moved to the first floor in 1957, where she lived until her death in 1971.
