International Museum Day 2024: a diverse and special offer for the whole family at the BMW Museum
International Museum Day will once again take place worldwide on May 19. The BMW Museum in Munich is also taking part with a program focusing on the topics of alternative drive systems, hydrogen and the circular economy in mobility.
International Museum Dayat the BMW Museum: an offer for the whole family
Visitors can look forward to themed short presentations by the museum guides on site. In addition, short films on the company's social responsibility projects provide an interesting insight into the role this plays for the future of BMW.
Free film and design workshops are also offered for children at the BMW Junior Museum on Museum Day. In the morning, the film workshop takes children aged 9 to 14 on a tour of ideas through the BMW Museum's permanent exhibition. They then work in small teams to make their own film. In the design workshop in the afternoon, children aged between 7 and 14 can develop their own vehicle designs under guidance and - like the professionals - with special tools, stencils and airbrushes. The places available are limited. To register for the workshops on Museum Day, please call: 089-38225460.
International Museum Day
The International Council of Museums (ICOM) holds International Museum Day every year. It highlights the importance of museums as places of cultural exchange and education. This year's theme, "Museums for Education and Research", highlights the role of museums in providing holistic educational experiences for a sustainable and inclusive world.
