The music program of Spätschicht x İÇ İÇE Festival kicks off with a concert by Intibint. Their artistic practice moves between music, visual art and performance and is characterized by diasporic experiences - both personal and collective. For this edition of Spätschicht , Intibint will play an acoustic set accompanied by guitarist Manvel.
Musically anchored in the electronic spectrum, UK-based musician Intibint moves fluidly between downtempo, alt-R&B and hip-hop, combining these with elements of Yemeni sound traditions. Her live set brings together vocals, field recordings, her own productions and interpretations of traditional and revolutionary songs from Yemen, Palestine and Sudan. The sounds combine to create a soundscape that tells of intimacy and political urgency.
Manuel Asratian is a Berlin-based guitarist who makes indie music in his native Armenian. His work is based on experimental approaches with the electric guitar as well as traditional instruments from Armenia, Anatolia and the wider Middle East, whose sound textures he weaves into a contemporary sound.
