Intro to Upholstery Workshop

Here's some further info on what to expect:

Do I need any experience?

Not at all! This workshop is designed for complete beginners. You'll learn everything step-by-step.

Do I need to bring anything?

Nope - we provide the chair, fabric, tools, and all materials. Just wear clothes you don't mind getting dusty or messy.

What kind of chair will I be working on?

Each participant gets a pre-loved wooden chair with a padded seat. Designs may vary slightly, but all are beginner-friendly and great for learning.

Yes - the chair is yours to keep at the end of the workshop.

Can I attend just one of the two days?

The workshop is designed as a complete two-day experience - on the first day, we take the chair apart and prepare it; on the second, we reassemble and upholster it with your chosen fabric. For this reason, attending both days is essential.

How many people will be in the class?

We keep it small (max 8 people) so everyone gets individual attention and space to work.

Is this accessible for people with limited mobility?

Please get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs and share access details for the venue.

What if I need to cancel?

We offer a full refund up to 14 days before the event. After that, we can't guarantee a refund but may be able to transfer your spot to someone else.

Will there be food?

We provide tea, coffee, and light snacks.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes - this workshop is for adults 18 and over. Due to the tools and materials involved, it's not suitable for children or teens. Participation of minors under the supervision of an adult may be considered on an individual basis. Please get in touch for more details.

Can I choose my fabric?

Yes! We'll have a curated selection of upholstery fabrics to choose from on the day. If you have something special you'd like to use, feel free to bring it - just let us know in advance so we can confirm it's suitable.
