Islandman on tour with new album - a multi-layered journey through the neo-Turkish psychedelia of Istanbul

With their upcoming album "Island5", Islandman present their most complex and impressive soundscape to date. Released in the fall of 2025, the work combines the ancient musical traditions of Anatolia with modern electronic aesthetics, expanding the sound for which the band has been celebrated for years: an atmospheric synthesis of contemporary sound design and deeply rooted cultural identity.

Islandman interpret Anatolian music not as a relic of times gone by, but as a living, breathing heritage that is constantly evolving. Traditional melodies and instruments merge with innovative compositions and electronic textures to create what the band calls "neo-Turkish psychedelia", a continuation, not a new beginning. Here, the past is not preserved, but transformed and embedded in today's sound world.

Founded by Tolga Böyük, Islandman grew into a trio, complemented by the psychedelic guitar playing of Erdem Başer and the meditative percussion of Eralp Güven. As a flexible sound collective, they move between acoustic and electronic worlds, between ritual and dance, thoughtful contemplation and intense ecstasy. Their live shows are immersive, profound and hypnotic.

Since their debut "Rest in Space" (2017), which created a dreamlike, Balearic-inspired atmosphere, Islandman has continued to develop their sound language. 'Kaybola' (2020) combined Anatolian tradition with Western musical language, while 'Godless Ceremony' (2021) made the music more organic and spiritual. The most recent album "Popsicle Obstacle" (2023) marked the transition to a digital sound utopia in which analog warmth and electronic precision merge.

Now, "Island5" strikes the perfect balance: a multi-layered album that captures the urban complexity of Istanbul and embeds the band's musical codes - ambient textures, modal scales and ceremonial percussion - in a rich, analog synthesizer landscape.
