Is infinity a pretzel?
As a reminder, the first DADA exhibition of the Rhineland surrealists took place in Cologne in 1919. Max Ernst Theodor Baargeld and others exhibited their works in a pub on Schildergasse that no longer exists today. A small Cologne passion for DADA has since manifested itself in the city.
The artist Mascha Rodigina has created a series in this tradition. A not at all mathematical approach to the great theme of infinity. In painting, lithography, mokuhanga, collage and embroidery, she explores the question with a wink: "Is infinity a pretzel?"
Mascha Rodigina draws her inspiration from the peculiarities of different media, which drives her to constantly explore new techniques and tools with curiosity. She is currently focusing on the study of the transition from one medium to another and the associated transformations.
During her studies, the artist took part in numerous exhibitions. After a long break, she is now showing her second solo exhibition. Bionic forms and the architectural heritage of constructivism are important sources of inspiration for her works, which have been created over the last nine years and were most recently exhibited at the Kolbhalle art and cultural center in Cologne-Ehrenfeld.
