Italo Disco

As the sun slowly sets over Piazza Italiana, the night gets underway at the halle02 club.

On Saturday, July 25, Piazza Italiana invites you to a big Italo Disco Night starting at 10 p.m. The host and DJ for the evening is Pasquale Martinello , aka Capitan Groove, who—with his passion for Italian music and culture—will provide the soundtrack for an unforgettable summer night.

Musically, guests can expect a journey through the golden era of Italo disco. In addition to legendary classics by Gazebo, Ryan Paris, Righeira, P. Lion, and Baltimora, the lineup also features Italo funk, boogie, disco, and modern Italian club sounds. After all, the sound of the ’80s is currently experiencing a remarkable comeback: young DJs and producers in Milan, Naples, and Bologna are rediscovering the grooves of that era and bringing them back to Europe’s dance floors.

Capitan Grooves’ set blends the great anthems of Italo Disco with modern influences and current productions. The result is an evening that bridges nostalgia and the present —full ofsummer vibes, Italian lightheartedness, and danceable grooves.

Italo Disco is more than just music. It stands for summer nights by the sea, neon lights, aperitivo, scooters, that vacation feeling, and the lightheartedness of the Italian way of life. It’s exactly this feeling that will take over the halle02 club for one night.

The event is part of Piazza Italiana, which brings Italian culture of indulgence, music, and la dolce vita to Heidelberg from July 23 to 26. After sunset, the club transforms into an Italian disco.
