On this evening the combos of the pianists of the Bachelor year will be presented.
Jacob Eckert Trio The Jacob Eckert Trio is a formation of musicians from Hamburg founded in 2023. In acoustic trio formation they play in their own style, contemporary and idiosyncratic and with a lot of energy. Rules and conventions play less of a role than spontaneous development and the search for something new. Among others, the piano trios of Brad Mehldau, Enrico Pieranunzi, Chick Corea or Paul Bley serve as inspiration. The repertoire includes mainly own compositions by pianist Jacob Eckert and standards from the American Songbook. Together with Mario Kolbe (double bass) and Johannes Kalt (drums) they have found a group that tries things out, inspires each other and gives each other space.
The trio got to know each other in 2022 at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. After playing together in various small and larger ensembles, they came together over time as a rhythm section. From this came the idea to form a trio and try out modern compositions and find their own sound.
Cansu Arat & Kirill Kretsu Duo The duo presents several compositions from the repertoire of Bill Evans and Tony Bennett. The musicians are inspired by the arrangements of these two legends and will try to show their vision of this music.
CRYPTIC Combining jazz and electro - CRYPTIC have set themselves this task, taking their cue from artists such as Kamaal Williams, Bill Evans, LTJ Bukem and many more. Under the aegis of drum and bass, the musicians combine elements from free jazz, swing, soul and other groove music to create their own expression. With Rafael Müller on drums, Tilman Fehse on synthesizers and Denny Seidel on piano, there are no limits to the sonic and playful possibilities. Look forward to a unique program in which new paths are sought and taken.
