Jan Garbarek has little interest in cultural, national or other boundaries. The music of the saxophonist with the unmistakable sound is correspondingly boundless: world music, free jazz, folklore? All true - and none of it. "The important thing is that we share our feelings and have respect for each other." The fact that Jan Garbarek has consistently lived this attitude for decades is a stroke of luck (not only) for the music world.
