Jazz-Gottesdienst für die Demokratie
In the organizer's words:
Music can be a medium of resistance against ideological restrictions. This became clear in the 1970s in Peitz, a small town in the middle of Lusatia, where free jazz musicians from all over the world met every year. In the context of the 35th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution, a piece of Peitz is coming to Leipzig: in the form of a festival in the German National Library and as a jazz service with top-class musicians in the Philippuskirche. The service will be led by Pastor Kurt Malk from Peitz. Followed by a morning pint in the beer garden in good weather.
