La Noche del Ritmo

As part of the Mannheim Jazz Lounge concert series, a concert by the Salsa Ensemble, the Percussion Ensemble and the Brasil Ensemble of the Mannheim State University of Music and Performing Arts under the direction of Professor José J. Cortijo will take place this evening under the motto "La Noche del Ritmo". The fascinating world of Afro-Cuban and Brazilian percussion instruments will be presented to the audience through an interesting mixture of traditional, modern and experimental music. Dance is linked to rhythm. With their modern and hot arrangements, the ensembles will provide ample opportunity to do so on this evening, creating a lively and varied concert.

This "La Noche del Ritmo" will be the last to take place under the direction of Prof. José J. Cortijo, as he is retiring.
