The Sol Jang Trio - led by South Korean pianist Sol Jang with Calvin Lennig (double bass) and Hendrik Eichler (drums) - combines lyrical jazz, improvisation and rich harmonies to create a dynamic and expressive sound. Shaped by global influences, Jang's music builds a bridge between tradition and innovation and tells stories of identity, movement and change. In 2024, she was awarded the Women in Jazz Festival Competition Award and the Jazz Prize of the City of Halle (Germany), highlighting her as a fresh voice in contemporary jazz. The trio's debut album, 19-29, was released on October 3, 2024 on Unit Records and reflects a decade of artistic development. It will be followed by an international tour through South Korea, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland until May 2025. With 19-29 and an exciting tour on the horizon, the Sol Jang Trio continues its journey on the global jazz scene.
