Tryfon Typou Frames is an ensemble based in Cologne. The project unfolds as a continuous musical work of interconnected parts and sees itself as an evolving narrative rather than a collection of individual pieces.

The music moves between the poles of free improvisation and structured composition and combines modern jazz with contemporary music. Notated material, harmonic structures and extra-musical impulses - for example from painting, poetry or graphic scores - characterize the improvisational contexts.

Each performance is designed as an open, changing process in which structure and spontaneity are in a dynamic balance.
