Jesus Christ Superstar

When Jesus Christ Superstar premiered in New York in 1971, it was one of the most controversial premieres in musical history. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, who were still unknown at the time, had brought the last seven days of Jesus of Nazareth to the stage as an innovative rock opera, triggering both storms of enthusiasm and fierce opposition from religious groups.
However, "Jesus Christ Superstar" is now one of the most performed musicals in the world and can confidently be described as a milestone in the genre. At Easter 2026, we will once again bring the play to the stage of the old Lichtspielhaus in Mannheim in concert with the Capitol ensemble.
Under the artistic direction of Doris Marlis and the musical direction of Marcos Padotzke, Sascha Krebs as Judas and other stars of the musical scene will give two concerts on April 2 and 3. Exciting singers, a large choir and a fantastic live band promise two very special performances that will not be forgotten for a long time.

The songs will be sung in English.

Lucy Scherer - Mary Magdalene
Growing up in Regensburg, Lucy spent a year at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio, before graduating from high school. After graduating from high school, she studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she graduated in 2005 with honors for her own work.
Her first role took her to the Theater des Westens, where she made her debut in 2006 as SARAH in TANZ DER VAMPIRE. She also played EPONINE in the Swiss premiere of LES MISÉRABLES at the Theater St.Gallen. Lucy's time in Stuttgart began with the German premiere of WICKED at the Palladium Theater. She waved her magic wand as the witch GLINDA for two years before putting on her vampire teeth again for a short time. She played the title role in LULU - Das Musical at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck and returned to Swabia in 2012 as ICH in the German premiere of the musical REBECCA.
As JENNY HARTMANN, she appeared in the Sat1 telenovela HAND AUFS HERZ in her first continuous TV role and was honored with the Soap Award 2011. She continued her TV career in the eighth season of the ARD series STURM DER LIEBE as the protagonist MARLENE SCHWEITZER. She also made guest appearances in "DER STAATSANWALT", "ROSENHEIM COPS", "Beck is back" and "Kommissarin Lucas".
This was followed by the roles of SALLY BOWLES in CABARET at the Tipi Berlin, MAGENTA in ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW in Magdeburg, OTTILIE- IM WEISSEN RÖSSL at the Landestheater Salzburg. In 2016, she returned to Stuttgart for the musical ROCKY - as ADRIAN, played ROXANE in CYRANO at Theater Bielefeld and toured Germany's most renowned concert halls for FROZEN - in concert as Princess ANNA, as well as a soloist for Disney in Concert. As PILOT in THE DROWSY CHAPERONNE and in the double role of ROSALIND FRANKLIN & CLAIRE FRASER in THE MOLEKÜL, she has repeatedly appeared at Theater Bielefeld.
LISA CAREW in "JEKYLL & HYDE at MUKO LEIPZIG preceded CHRISTINE COLGATE in the musical ZWEI HOFFNUNGSLOS VERDORBENE SCHURKEN at Theater Heilbronn. In 2019, Lucy played LILI RAMADA in "ANNIE - Das Musical" at the Wizemann in Stuttgart.
During her parental leave, the now mother of two last appeared in SISTER ACT at the Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall in 2022/23.
Lucy also works as a dubbing actress, a soloist at concerts in German-speaking countries and as an acting teacher for children and young people at the Ismaning Music School. She can be seen for the first time at Capitol Mannheim.

Riccardo Greco - Jesus
Riccardo Greco was a scholarship holder of the Joop van den Ende Academy in Hamburg. He has covered Sky in Mamma Mia!, Alfred in Tanz der Vampire, Lucheni in Elisabeth, Eddie, TJ and Erkan in Sister Act in Vienna, Kenickie and alternate Danny in Grease, Sonny in Xanadu, Nick in Flashdance and young Alfred in Der Besuch der alten Dame in Vienna.

In 2014, he became a member of the renowned Linz Musical Ensemble, where his roles included Enjolras in Les Misérables, Tommy in The Who's Tommy, Hedwig in Hedwig And The Angry Inch, Sam in the German-language premiere of Ghost, Edna Turnblad in Hairspray and Tate in Ragtime. In 2018, Riccardo appeared on stage in Bad Hersfeld as Berger in Hair before returning as Sam in Ghost - this time in Hamburg, Berlin and Stuttgart. He played Frank Abagnale Jr. in Catch Me If You Can in Darmstadt and Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar in St. Gallen before going on tour as Galileo in We Will Rock You. He was Christian in the German-language premiere of Moulin Rouge! in Cologne, followed by Lucheni in Elisabeth in front of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna and in the largest cities in China, where he also played Jack Favell in Rebecca. Riccardo was most recently seen again as Lucheni in the German tour of Elisabeth.

He is currently on stage as William Shakespeare in the musical & Juliet at the Operettenhaus in Hamburg.

Sascha Krebs - Judas
Sascha received his classical singing and acting training in Heidelberg and Hamburg. His first engagement took him to Tecklenburg, where he appeared in Zigeunerbaron and Hair. As a soloist, he toured throughout Europe with The Best of Broadway and the Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical Gala. Under the direction of Roman Polanski, he played Herbert and Count von Krolock in Dance of the Vampires at the Raimund Theater in Vienna. He played the title role in Jesus Christ Superstar in eight different productions.
As a member of the Mannheim Capitol ensemble, he is familiar to our guests from productions such as Ladies' Night, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Jailhouse Blues, I Want It All, The Wolf With The Red Roses, HAIR, Jesus Christ Superstar in Concert, Evita and many more.
As in previous years, we are delighted to be able to see him again in the role of Judas.
