Hanna Meyerholtz From the desire for closeness and distance at the same time, the charming look back, a bandit under the bed, from losing and finding again, from in vino veritas or from learning to swim... The singer/songwriter Hanna Meyerholz from Münster tells of this and much more in her gentle folk songs with a great voice.
The authenticity with which Hanna vividly interprets her songs touches and awakens emotions. English-language songs that take on a quality of their own - with an energy that refuses to diminish...
In March 2023, her third album "This Year" was released on her own label Irish Green Records. Sit back and enjoy:
"A great folk album that gently moves! There are days when you just have to listen to certain albums to feel better. 'This Year' is one of them."
Johnny Campbell is one of the most distinctive voices on the current British folk scene, combining self-penned songs with traditional songs and stories from the North of England. The singer and guitarist from Yorkshire is often described as a modern Billy Bragg due to his direct, socially critical style. Musically, he moves between raw acoustic folk, working-class songs, protest songs and atmospheric ballads with strong narrative power. He has also attracted international attention with albums such as From Hull & Halifax & Hell and True North, the latter of which was named one of the albums of the year by Richard Thompson. In terms of content, Campbell deals with home, landscape, social justice and the right to free access to nature. Live, he impresses with his intense stage presence, authentic voice and a folk sound that is both traditional and highly topical.
Lucie Frank is a singer-songwriter from Berlin. Her music is a mixture of alternative folk and indie pop music. Inspired by artists such as Lizzy McAlpine and Elliott Smith, she combines soft, soulful vocals with distorted guitars and electronic elements such as field recordings. Her debut single "Here I Go Again" was featured on BBC Introducing and FluxFM and is still her most listened to song today. Together with her band, she has played on renowned stages in Berlin such as Kesselhaus, Gretchen, Festsaal Kreuzberg and Lido and has established herself as an up-and-coming artist in the Berlin indie scene over the last two years.
This year she recorded her debut ep at the historic Funkhaus, the production and promotion of which was funded by the 'Initiative Musik' grant. In collaboration with sound engineer Francis Stuart and artist Claire Days, they completed six songs that will be released on April 24, 2026.
