After his solo exhibition in December 2022, we are looking forward to showing works by Jo Kuhn again. Jo Kuhn's artistic techniques range from resin wax painting to gouache and pastel on paper to pigment printing. They are always committed to colors and their interactions, exploring their essence in a sensitive way.

Jo Kuhn: "The confrontation with painting is a mental act that is triggered directly by the color via the eye to the senses. Color in painting allows an equally direct and broad access to sensation as through sound in music. Color offers its rich spectrum to the most subtle as well as lyrical sensations that cannot be put into words. The pull of silence that can emanate from painting is one of its strong impressions."

Jo Kuhn, born in Mülheim an der Ruhr in 1935, has devoted himself entirely to color as a freelance artist since 1971. "Farbdialoge #2" is being realized in cooperation with Jo Kuhn and the Stiftung Konzeptuelle Kunst, to which the artist donated a large part of his work in 2021.
