The young quartet led by Berlin-based pianist and composer Joel Marschner presents its own innovative and modern take on contemporary jazz. His original compositions captivate with their profound emotional depth, varied compositional form and structure, paired with a moving sense of melody and richly colored harmonies.
The quartet’s music bridges Scandinavian and European jazz and is inspired by greats such as Esbjörn Svensson and Bobo Stenson. The four musicians now live in Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria—united by their shared musical language.
