JOKE COVE / THE NEUROPHONIC TEMPLE - Psycho-Doom-Heavy-Rock / Psychedelic Noise Rock

When the walls of Betty's Black Pearl start to vibrate, it's not because the brickwork is bad, but because of the next stoner rock double attack: Juke Cove and The Neurophonic Temple have decided to join forces to provide controlled acoustic escalation.

Juke Cove travel from Leipzig, armed with a sound that sounds as if stoner rock had secretly met up with doom, psychedelic and punk in a smoky side street at night. Since 2018, they have been building songs that don't just go straight ahead, but like to take a left turn, disappear briefly into the fog and then come back with a riff that takes your shoes off. Hypnotic bass lines, dark hooks and structures that follow as few rules as a hangover after three days at a festival - a live experience that pushes and pulls at the same time.

And then there's The Neurophonic Temple from Osnabrück. They finally answer the question that nobody dared to ask: What does a trout hallucinate about in toxic chemical waste? That's right - psychedelic noise rock in its purest form. Since 2023, the trio has been celebrating a sound that lies somewhere between trance-like incantation and controlled noise ritual. The path to their temple is paved with driving drums, flat guitars and bass lines that lie under reality like a carpet. The chants of the high priests are enthroned above this, while decibels and pressure are consistently pushed to the limit.

Ever since their first EP in the summer of 2024, it has been clear that they don't just spill the beans, they bang them. And just in time for the concert, the new album "Transgressive Sonic Stimuli" will be released on 17 April 2026, probably just the right thing to unsettle the neighborhood.

Or, as the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung aptly put it: "The Neurophonic Temple then turned the volume all the way up. The trio played powerful psychedelic rock that made the walls shake."

In short: anyone who goes home that evening with their eardrums intact probably wasn't there at all.
