Between workouts and skincare, Monique, known as Mon, lives in a sphere of maximum perfection. Like her friends, she earns her living through online collaborations. At alcohol-free parties, their relationships are exhausted in modes of competition, envy and feigned affection. At a shoot for a chocolate start-up, Mon meets a young photographer; it is the beginning of a series of initially sexual transgressions in which Monique's latent aggression soon breaks out in increasingly drastic excesses of violence.

In the tradition of the young Bret Easton Ellis, Josefine Rieks always writes at the limits of what is bearable in Wenn euch das gefällt. Her subject is the lack of experience of individuals in an increasingly virtual reality, their violent self-determination and their hunger for vitality.
