What does it mean to be gentle, courageous, responsible, Black, a woman, and a mother in today’s world? Joy Bogat searches for answers in her music and takes her listeners along on this journey. Carried by Bogat’s clear, extraordinary voice, her music moves between soul, alternative R&B, and indie. Layers of vocals intertwine with spoken word and groovy beats with a playful ease that’s second to none—and is utterly infectious. With her debut album *Fabric of Dreams* (2024) and the follow-up EP “What It Means To…,” the musician from Hanover has ushered in a new musical phase—bolder, more headstrong, yet still so warm and inviting that everyone can find their own place within it. Her new songs have also quickly become the reason why Joy Bogat’s live shows are said to have an inspiring, empowering, and downright healing effect. She has already demonstrated this at venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, on TV Noir, on ZDF’s *Morgenmagazin*, at the Reeperbahn Festival, and at Fusion, among others.
