Just recently, his hit "If The World Was Ending" feat. Julia Michaels, cracked the 1 billion streams on Spotify. It was also with this track that Jonathan Percy Saxe (JP Saxe for short) made his big breakthrough at the end of 2019. He now counts nearly 8 million monthly Spotify listeners and more than 1.8 million followers via social media. In 2021, he was nominated five times at the JUNO Awards and won the award for Breakthrough Artist Of The Year. His biggest success came that same year when "If The World Was Ending" was nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards. Two iHeart Award nominations in the categories Best New Pop Artist and Best Lyrics manifest JP Saxe's position within the international pop scene. In his home country, JP Saxe already has multiple platinum awards and gold status for his EP "Hold It Together" (2020) and the album "Dangerous Levels Of Introspection" (2021). In addition to several headline shows, he has opened for Alicia Keys, Lewis Capaldi, Milky Chance and John Mayer. He also wrote his single "I Don't Miss You" with Mayer, which was released in April 2023, and is also set as a support act on further USA tour dates of the singer-songwriter. In 2022, JP Saxe gave his first concerts in Europe. Art and music played a major role in the Canadian's life from an early age. As the grandson of the Hungarian cellist János Starker (who himself was nominated for the Grammy several times and won it in 1997), it is not surprising that JP Saxe was the first to start learning the cello. Influenced by jazz and R&B, he soon learned to play guitar and piano and began writing his own songs. After his first performances in his hometown Toronto and his own releases on the internet, he caught the attention of producers. In 2017, he released his debut single "Changed" - the beginning of a great career. Whether balladic with minimalist piano accompaniment ("A Little Bit Yours"), subtle electric guitar and electronic beats ("Same Room") or in smooth pop spheres ("I Don't Miss You") - JP Saxe's gentle voice fits perfectly into any context. The focus is always on his emotional storytelling: his lyrics are about love, failed relationships and growing up. The 30-year-old singer shows himself to be authentic throughout, singing about personal experiences which, as a reflection of his life, provide a lot of identification potential with their blunt honesty. JP Saxe's new album "A Grey Area" will be released on September 22, 2023, following his debut album released in 2021. The current single "Caught Up On You" provides another foretaste of it and shows JP Saxe with subtle rap interludes as well as catchy synth-pop elements. In early April 2024 he will present the new material live in Germany for the first time at two concerts in Berlin and Cologne. - A Grey Area Tour
