Jugend musiziert 2024

The regional competitions are over and 1016 young people are expected to take part in the state competition Jugend musiziert NRW, which will take place in Cologne from March 8 to 12. The Hochschule für Musik und Tanz, the Humboldt-Gymnasium, the Alte Feuerwache and the Musikfabrik will provide rooms for the competition, and rooms at the Domsingschule and the Basilika St. Kunibert may also be used.

This year's categories are as follows:

• Solo evaluation: wind instruments, plucked instruments, bass (pop), musical, organ, bağlama
• Ensemble evaluation: piano four to eight hands or two pianos, duo piano and a string instrument, duo art song - voice and piano, percussion ensemble, special instrumentation - works from the classical, romantic, late romantic and impressionist periods
• Jumu open

The evaluations are public!

Expert jurors from universities, music schools, schools and radio/media will evaluate the individual performances and, for some, award the coveted forwarding to the national competition, which will take place this year from May 16 to 22 in Lübeck.

The state competition is made possible by the sponsoring North Rhine-Westphalian savings banks, the City of Cologne and the NRW Ministry of Culture and Science. The competition is organized by the Landesmusikrat NRW.
