Lecture by Julia Finkernagel

On 29.1.26, TV journalist and author Julia Finkernagel will take us on a trip to Mongolia. Navigating through the steppe without a compass, immersing herself in nomadic life as an assistant, sleeping like oil sardines in a yurt (feet always pointing south), coping with goat guts and smiling away various mishaps - that's the motto.

The shrewd travel journalist spent five weeks traveling through green galaxies with her cameraman and a two-meter-tall Mongolian, his nephew and a cook, bringing back all kinds of curious and funny things about the huge country in Central Asia and its extraordinary people.

Tonight she tells us all about it. She will also be showing moving images, telling stories from behind the scenes and reading passages from her Spiegel bestseller "Ostwärts - oder wie man mit den Händen Suppe isst, ohne sich nachher umziehen zu müssen.
