Iwanson International, the largest private center for contemporary dance in Germany, trains more than a hundred talents from all over the world every year for their future careers as dancers, choreographers and dance teachers. Since 2009, Iwanson International has been organizing the "Festival Junger Tanz", its showcase of contemporary dance, with the support of the City of Munich. The motto of this year's festival is "It's on us".
At "Licensed to Dance", graduates of the stage dance training program will showcase their skills: The choreographies range from Iwanson director Johannes Härtl's latest take on Borna Babić's "Amae" to our urge for co-dependencies and Minka-Marie Heiß' work on Carl Orff's Carmina Burana "In Taberna". Adrienn Hód sends the ensemble on a search for a moral compass and Simone Sandroni uses dance to trace connections between our primeval patterns of action.
In "Open Campus", students from all years, from basic year to final year, provide an artistic insight into the diversity of their training. On show are choreographies by Guido Badalamenti & David Cahier, Pia Fossdal, Katharina Fürst, Sonja Golubkowa, Johannes Härtl & Sophie Charlotte Becker, Minka-Marie Heiß, Martha Rák and Veronika Trogemann.
