Screening of "Kafka and I" and discussion with Vera Weber, Benjamin Kahlmeyer and Michael Kumpfmüller.
The documentary "Kafka and I" tells the story and work of the writer in a new way: seen through the eyes of a dog, more precisely Franz Kafka's dog, spoken by actress Anna Thalbach. 100 years after the death of her master and creator, the dog wants to understand why the writer is still relevant and even celebrated today: Who was Franz Kafka? Why are his texts so topical? And what links them to life in the 21st century?
We talk to director Vera Weber, visual designer Benjamin Kahlmeyer and author Michael Kumpfmüller about their view of Kafka and why it is so rewarding to revisit him again and again.
