In the organizer's words:
What is it like to grow up in a country where Jewish-Israeli hegemony displaces, excludes, and silences the Palestinian population? And where can Jews feel at home today—in Israel, Palestine, or Germany?
Tomer Dotan-Dreyfus tells his family’s story, overshadowed by the Holocaust. At the same time, he examines the history of Israel’s founding, the Nakba, and the reality of the occupation. What consequences does the war in the “Middle East” have for German remembrance culture?
In his essay, Tomer Dotan-Dreyfus explores his relationship to state and religion, Zionism and the Holocaust, Palestine, Israel, and Germany.
The event will be moderated by Ilham Bani Odeh.
This event is organized in cooperation with Friends of Standing Together Southern Germany and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation .
