Hair is much more than a matter of style. It speaks to beauty and desire, power and powerlessness, conformity and rebellion. Hair is a powerful means of expression—politically, religiously, culturally, and personally. Through it, we express our sense of belonging, shape our identity, or captivate others. The exhibition invites visitors on a stimulating, sensory, and surprising journey through three millennia of the art and cultural history of hair. Around 200 exhibits, spanning from antiquity to the present day, demonstrate the power that something seemingly ordinary can unleash.
