Ki'Luanda and Miss Mellow—a match made in... Middle Franconia. When the two acts met here at a festival in the summer of 2025, it was musical love at first sight. So similar, yet so different, the musicians from both bands got their audiences (and each other) dancing—and it quickly became clear: We have to do this again. Now the bands are thrilled to invite their enthusiastic fans to a double-header in Nuremberg (Sept. 22) and Munich (Sept. 24). At Import Export, everyone can look forward to Miss Mellow’s driving, prog- and funk-infused psychedelic escapades. And even more so to the inspiring and electrifying charisma of the soul and funk machine Ki’Luanda, the project of Nuremberg-based artist Melanie Ibemba.

Miss Mellow - Kanonen (Live at Theatron '25)

If there’s one thing that makes this four-piece band stand out, it’s easy to spot: their joy in making music. Since its founding in 2019, MISS MELLOW has been exploring psychedelic soundscapes with boundless enthusiasm. The band has found its home in the musical playgrounds of the ’70s. The Munich-based group’s sound blends krautrock-inspired psychedelia with sprawling jam sessions, where clean funk entwines with gritty fuzz, and heavy stoner riffs collide with psychedelic escapades. Despite all these differences, the harmonious interplay within this musical diversity is captivating, inviting listeners to both dance and lose themselves in the music. In 2023, the Munich-based band released their highly acclaimed debut album. 
An overwhelming online response was followed by a vinyl release, which also made waves in the German media landscape. According to Legacy magazine, the record was “top-notch” in terms of arrangement, yet at the same time “pleasantly unpretentious and accessible to a broad audience.” On May 23, 2025, their second LP, titled “Dancing Through the Earth,” will be released via the Greek label Sound Effect Records. MISS MELLOW’s psychedelic sounds take on a more progressive guise here than ever before, a wild yet harmonious fusion ride through the Earth’s core—one where you’re never quite sure what pleasant surprises await.
