Klartext: Zur Geschichte des Bode-Museums
In the organizer's words:
The Bode Museum welcomes around a quarter of a million visitors every year and its façade is one of Berlin's landmarks. However, its history and the collections on display here are less well known. Yet the museum's past and present are directly linked to Berlin's history: like Berlin, the Bode-Museum has survived the two world wars, National Socialism and the division of Germany and is also facing up to the current challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. In order to better understand the museum and its role in society and the city then and now, the museum's fateful history is being examined from a critical perspective for the first time in an exhibition.
