Klavierrecital: Evgeni Koroliov
In the organizer's words:
- Evgeni Koroliov, piano | Honorary Member of the Beethoven-Haus Association
For many years, Evgeni Koroliov has impressed audiences with his intellectual insight into the works, to which he devotes his pianistic and interpretive skills. From 2020 to 2022, he performed a celebrated cycle of Beethoven’s piano sonatas in the Chamber Music Hall. Here, he thoughtfully combines the Diabelli Variations—the major work for solo piano that has yet to be performed—with excerpts from Bach’s masterpieces, which are particularly sophisticated in their counterpoint.
- Johann Sebastian Bach, Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in D minor, BWV 903
- Johann Sebastian Bach, Seven Three-Part Symphonies from BWV 787–801
- Johann Sebastian Bach, Six Contrapunts from “The Art of Fugue,” BWV 1080
- Ludwig van Beethoven, Diabelli Variations in C major, Op. 120
