The most beautiful city in Germany or a party place for anyone who wants to let their hair down, a carnival stronghold, but otherwise just mediocre - what's the truth in all these descriptions? For those who live there, Cologne is not a city in the true sense of the word, but a "Jeföhl", for those who have moved away, it is a place of longing to which one returns at some point "so that the children we can have are all in Kölle jebore sin". What is going well, what is going badly, what is shining, what is rusting? And is the city's society really primarily a carnival society, is Cologne's development being held back by the carnival hustle and bustle?
