Cologne's reconstruction is a thing of the past. Important Cologne architects helped to shape the cityscape. The different attitudes and teachings of these influential architects continue to enrich Cologne's architectural landscape to this day.
The event is about the "children", the next generation of the "architects of reconstruction". In addition to architects such as Peter and Ursula Trint and Hans Schilling, this year's 100th birthdays of Joachim Schürmann and Oswald Mathias Ungers in particular provide an opportunity for reflection and appreciation.
The AFR has now invited representatives of the next generation to a discussion: Art historian Sophia Ungers from the Ungers Archive for Architectural Science and architects Paul Böhm, Johannes Schilling, Peter Schürmann and Kay Trint.
