From documentaries to experimental films and fiction to animation: Cologne's filmmaking scene is an interesting one to explore. That's why this year's Cologne Window will once again focus on current short films by independent Cologne filmmakers and film school students. The viewers' attention will be drawn to various topics, always opening up new perspectives that surprise through form and content. In addition, the Cologne Window provides a platform for the exchange and networking of regional filmmakers with different backgrounds. These short films, which were produced between 2023 and 2024, will be shown as part of a film night. The audience award is donated by FinderTV Kameraverleih and there is a chance of a prize being awarded by WDR.

Ranging from documentaries, experimental films and fiction to animation - Cologne's film scene has a lot to offer. That's why in this section we feature current productions by Cologne's freelance filmmakers as well as students of the city's several film schools. The audience is invited to explore a range of topics, viewpoints, forms and narratives. In addition to that, the KÖLNER FENSTER provides an exchange and networking platform for regional filmmakers from varying backgrounds. The films in this section, produced in 2023 and 2024, are presented during one long night of short films. This section is also a competition, with an audience award endowed by FinderTV Camera Rental and the chance at a funding award endowed by WDR, the regional arm of Germany's public broadcasting service.
ALL FILMS NOT IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE WILL BE SCREENED WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES.
