Experience this friendly custom around the longest day of the year - a festival for the whole family, enjoy the summer right on the Rhine! "Midsummer" refers to the summer solstice. On this day is the shortest night and therefore also the longest day of the year - which has been celebrated in many cultures for thousands of years. With a mixture of summer festival, street food market and a large arts and crafts and design market, there is something for everyone. The big Ferris wheel will be there again - with a great view over Cologne, the cathedral and the city lights in the evening.

Of course, the midsummer tree-raising in the Scandinavian style is not to be missed. On Saturday 20.6. (summer solstice on 21.6.) the humorous program for young and old starts at 3 pm with the last flower decoration of the tree and from 4 pm it will be put up together with the visitors. This time there will be special attractions for children and families - a 500-square-metre play area with an extensive play street - where they can play, make and discover to their heart's content, from ironing beads to toy cars or experiments, plus a larger-than-life memory game and a BobbyCar course - all free of charge. Children can also create their own individual chocolate bears and chocolate dreams are fulfilled on a large Lindt wheel of fortune as part of the "20 years of Lindt x Chocolate Museum partnership" anniversary.
