Konzert: Plattenbau + tba (Post-Punk / Noise Rock / Wave)
In the organizer's words:
Plattenbau is an internationally diverse Berlin-based quartet that blends elements of post-punk, noise rock, and new wave into a dark, intense mix. Plattenbau’s sound combines mechanical-sounding drums, goth-tinged basslines, mystical guitars, and paranoid, wailing synths into a mix reminiscent of the soundtrack to a ’90s horror movie. The whole thing is held together by intimate, deep, and dark vocals. The result is a soundscape that feels both chaotic and carefully composed—true to their motto: “Tight, loose, and evil.”
The band was founded in 2011, inspired by the brutalist architecture of East Berlin’s post-Soviet landscape. As an integral part of Berlin’s underground scene, the band evolved over the years—both personally and in terms of their sound—until they settled on their current lineup: Lewis Lloyd (vocals/synth), Sally Brown (bass/vocals), Brandon Walsh (drums), and Jesper Munk (guitar/synth).
Since 2021, they have released their second and third studio albums, “Shape /Shifting” (2022) and “Net Prophet” (2023), which they promoted on extensive tours through Europe and the U.S.—including appearances at SXSW and the New Colossus Festival in New York, as well as the closing concert at the Bowery Ballroom with A Place To Bury Strangers.
