THE KORESH DANCE COMPANY FROM PHILADELPHIA IS UNIQUE, surprisingly different in its fusion of elements from modern dance and jazz dance, as well as (Israeli) folk dance and classical ballet. It draws its captivating dynamism and explosive energy from the fusion of cultural elements from the Middle East with Western dance forms. It combines technical brilliance with emotional depth and expressiveness, and physical intensity with athletic precision. It owes this fascinating blend to its founder and artistic director, Ronen (Roni) Koresh, who
grew up in Israel, was inspired early on by his mother—a folk dancer in the Yemeni tradition—and then moved to the U.S. as a young dancer. Outside the U.S., the Koresh Dance Company has toured in the Dominican Republic, Spain, Israel,
South Korea, Mexico, Guatemala, and Turkey. In March 2027, it will come to Germany for the first time and showcase its stylistic diversity in a mixed program of contrasting choreographies.
