"Ballads of Outlaw Feelings

"Ballads of Outlaw Feelings" is a series of solo musical performances by Berlin-based artist and choreographer Melanie Jame Wolf. Wolf explores the recurring hooks of pop, the immediacy of folk music and the expressionist tradition of spoken word to create darkly humorous emotional landscapes. With voice, loop effects and simple piano and guitar accompaniment, she creates an intimate live musical experience about heartache in this edition of our Sunday concert series "Krach mit Sahne". And, as we all know, the best way to indulge in it is with cake and lots of (vegan) cream!

Melanie Jame Wolf is a Berlin-based visual artist and choreographer. She works alone and with friends on interdisciplinary works about power, capital flows and the phenomenon of "show business". Melanie Jame comes from the field of contemporary performance and works with text, sound, moving image, choreography and sculpture. Her work often deals with specific performance techniques such as imitation, rehearsal or stand-up, understanding the body as a recalcitrant political enigma. She borrows from an over-stylized pop aesthetic and relies on humour as a strategy for critical inquiry, as well as subtle and surprising work with language. Her work is shown internationally in theaters, museums and at festivals. Most recently, she was a guest at the Schwankhalle in 2023 together with Teresa Vittucci and the performance evening "Show Business".
