The Chinese diaspora has spread all over the world, creating a close-knit network of trade connections and playing a significant role in shaping the history of the world culturally. Close ties between Cologne and the Middle Kingdom developed early on: Adam von Schall from Cologne was the first foreign Mandarin. Today, Beijing is Cologne's twin city and thousands of people of Chinese descent live here.

On this cultural tour, we visit the small, private cultural institute "3 Königen" and experience a tea ceremony. Then we will learn about goods in the large Asian market, practise Tai Chi, listen to a classical Chinese concert and experiment with TCM, traditional Chinese medicine. At the end, we have the option of visiting the Chinese restaurant Lei Lei for a sumptuous, authentic meal. The tour guide Xinyi Zhang is a Chinese opera singer.
