KunstPause bei Ludorff. Die kleine Portion Kunst für zwischendurch

In the organizer's words:

Once a month, one of our staff members will introduce you to an exhibition or an artist featured at the gallery during the lunch break. Enjoy a cup of coffee, let the art inspire you, and take a moment to relax from your daily work routine.

Our next Art Break will take place on Tuesday, June 30, from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. in our gallery space on the 3rd floor. This time, the focus will be on the works of Klaus Fußmann.
We look forward to seeing you there!

The painter and graphic artist Klaus Fußmann (*1938) gained recognition through his rediscovery of classical artistic themes such as landscape depictions and floral still lifes.
Whether as an expressive watercolor, a delicate, ethereal pastel, or a powerfully impasto oil on canvas—his paintings captivate with a poetic depiction of the world through the artist’s eyes, celebrating both color and the act of painting.
The artist is constantly seeking an artistic engagement with nature. After several painting retreats on the Baltic Sea, Klaus Fußmann moved into his home in Gelting in 1978. That same year, he and his wife Barbara laid out a garden that, with its lush blooms, would repeatedly become a motif and a seemingly inexhaustible source of inspiration in the decades to follow.
In his watercolors, Fußmann demonstrates his masterful skill in this technique, which forgives no mistakes and cannot be corrected. He uses multi-layered, transparent application of paint to capture the subtle nuances of the blossoms illuminated by light. Even though the flower paintings are rooted in nature as their subject matter, their abstract formal language makes it clear that they are always, as it were, a representation of the subject, the material, and the act of creation. The painter also shows us the plants in all their beauty, yet simultaneously points to their imminent transience. This transience resonates in many of the artist’s works and exerts an enduring fascination upon him
