Kunstsonntag im Atelierloft 21 der Wachsfabrik mit Gastkünsler Markus Lensch

On Sunday, 05.07.2026, the Art Sunday with open studios will once again take place at the Wachsfabrik. For the third time, Cologne painter Markus Lensch will be exhibiting his oil and acrylic paintings as a guest artist in Atelierloft 21. Thomas C. Brueck will provide inspirational musical accompaniment to the exhibition.

Thematically, his paintings deal with moments of metropolitan life as well as the cultural and party scene.

The escape from reality, life in the here and now, the absorption of absurdities, the distraction from social constraints.

Surrealistically playful and at the same time dark, fragile and disturbing, the detailed paintings leave the viewer plenty of room for interpretation.

A look at the artist's pictorial worlds reminds us of what is truly worth living for and at the same time of the magical pull of the fantastic.
