LADIES CRIME NIGHT in Köln

"Murder is our profession" International Women's Day charity reading for the benefit of LOBBY FÜR MÄDCHEN e. V

International Women's Day on March 8 stands for visibility, solidarity and commitment to the rights of girls and women.

In keeping with this, eight female authors will be reading their gripping stories in the vaulted cellar of the Christuskirche that evening. They are part of the Murderous Sisters association, in which female crime writers support each other in solidarity. The proceeds from the evening will go to LOBBY FÜR MÄDCHEN.

"Read to the end" is the merciless principle of the Ladies Crime Night: musically rounded off with a murderous closing song and ukulele, the crime writers Myriane Angelowski, Nadine Buranaseda, Ulla Lessmann, Edith Niedieck, C. N. Costa, Anja Puhane, Regina Schleheck and Dagmar Maria Toschka bring their most exciting scenes to the stage. The audience is immersed in stories full of mysterious crimes and unexpected twists and turns - embedded in the mysterious atmosphere of the vaulted cellar.

Eight authors each read for six minutes from one of their stories while the clock ticks relentlessly. When the time is up, a shot rings out and the author must stop immediately. Then the next reader takes the stage ...

Christiane Nitsche-Costa leads through the evening with wit, flair and criminal curiosity, combining the individual readings into an exciting overall picture. The Ladies Crime Night celebrates International Women's Day with a variety of stories, strong female authors and an evening full of suspense, solidarity and literary thrills.

The Mörderische Schwestern e. V. association promotes German-language crime literature written by women on many levels and is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The association has more than 700 members in Germany, Austria and Switzerland - mainly female authors, but also female crime fiction enthusiasts and professionals from the book industry - in its 14 so-called regional groups.

The net proceeds from the event will go to LOBBY FÜR MÄDCHEN e. V., an association that has been campaigning for the rights and interests of girls and young women in Cologne for over 35 years. LOBBY FÜR MÄDCHEN promotes the self-determination and social participation of girls and young women with a wide range of services in the areas of counseling, prevention, leisure and education.

The event is being held in cooperation with Krimi & Kölsch and the Christuskirche am Stadtgarten.
