In the organizer's words:

The presentation Twice Germany around 1980 shows a selection of photographs from East and West Germany around the year 1980. The pictures document the social and everyday life in both German states. Often only the titles provide reliable information about the part of Germany in which the photographs were taken.

The presentation focuses on the special perspectives of seven photographers and takes us into very different realities of life.

Niclas Arenz is a poet from Cologne and writes personalized poems for people on his Olympia typewriter. Whether love, new beginnings, grief or happiness - the themes are in the hands of those who come to him. No poem can be written twice, as no two stories are completely alike.

After a brief conversation, he writes down the words in either German or English within a few minutes and is also happy to read the poem aloud on request. Of course you can take the poem with you afterwards - no copy will be kept.

Enjoy the clicking of the keys and pause for a moment while the words are immortalized on paper.

Due to the high demand, admission to the Yayoi Kusama exhibition on Long Thursday is only possible with an online ticket. All online tickets are already sold out. Admission to the program in the photo room is separate and subject to availability at the museum entrance. Thank you for your understanding. As always, admission is free all day for people living in Cologne. All others pay only 7€ at 17h.
