Lasse Matthiessen
In the organizer's words:
Lasse Matthiessen
Danish indie-pop artist Lasse Matthiessen’s music moves between intimacy and cinematic expansiveness. With his voice, guitar, and electronic soundscapes, he creates an atmospheric soundscape that blends Nordic melancholy with modern, emotional pop.
Matthiessen performs as a solo artist and achieves remarkable intensity using minimalist arrangements. His warm voice, accompanied by guitar, subtle beats, and shimmering synth textures, guides the audience through songs about fleeting encounters, memory, intimacy, and the passage of time.
The Danish musician divides his time between Copenhagen and Berlin and has already completed extensive tours through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Denmark. He has performed at festivals such as the Reeperbahn Festival, the c/o pop Festival, the Immergut Festival, and the New Fall Festival. He has also opened for artists including Clueso, Anna Calvi, Glen Hansard, and Suzanne Vega, and most recently toured Germany as the opening act for Cari Cari.
With his latest release, “Night Train,” Matthiessen blends an intimate, folk-inspired sensibility with shimmering, electronically influenced indie pop. His music moves between light and shadow, between fragile intimacy and a powerful atmosphere—soundscapes that unfold with great intensity, especially in a live setting.
