Laura Dee writes impressive, French-language piano songs and released her new album "Courageuses" (Courageous Women) in October 2020. Her songs have already been played on the radio all over Europe - and with good reason: they are poetic, political - and surprisingly funny. Her program oscillates between France and Berlin-Kreuzberg, between chanson and irony, between goosebumps and grins. Laura Dee is not only committed to Franco-German cultural exchange, but also to what really connects the two countries: café crème, great emotions and subtle self-irony.
Her approach is feminist, emotional and humorous: always light-footed at the piano, she sings about the dream of a Paralympics athlete, the secret life of a Berlin terrorist or the fate of the courageous Gisèle Pélicot.She invites people to dance on the Pont d'Avignon, mourns emotionally unattainable lovers - and incidentally settles accounts with unfair streaming fees over a techno beat. With the help of her loop machine, the musician, who studied music and French in Freiburg, builds an entire vocal orchestra live - including a backing choir, groove and a wink.In short: an evening for everyone who wants to laugh, think and dream a little French.
