Laura Liebeskind, born in Leipzig, set out to unlearn fear. Her path led her via Hildesheim, Nancy, Berlin, Vienna, Glasgow, Hagen and Chicago, where she studied political science, philosophy, singing, dance and acting. After returning to Leipzig, the Krystallpalast has become something of a second home for her, where she has hosted, sung, played the piano and climbed the vertical rope in two winter shows ("SHOWTIME" 2018/19, "GLANZZEIT" 2022/23).
In between, she also released her double album "Das Glück" in the Great Hall of the Gewandhaus in Leipzig in 2021, which was named Album of the Week by MDR Kultur in May 2022. After she was also allowed to travel to the coveted Celle School of the GEMA Foundation in the same year, where she was taught by greats such as Anna Depenbusch, Rolf Zuckowski and Edith Jeske, Laura immediately began writing her two new albums "Dionysos" and "Nah". On the former, her eye for social issues is sharpened: Anti-democracy, misogyny, bullying, the Ukraine war, climate change. The other is a collection of rebellious love songs that deal with the crazy psychology of attraction.
On this evening, in the intimate and sparkling setting of the Krystallpalast Varieté, Liebeskind will provide an early and close-up insight into both albums, which will not be officially released until April 2024, and will of course also play the most popular songs from her album "Das Glück" - on guitar, piano and loop station and with the support of her house and court guitarist Tim Ludwig (known from Byebye).
