Laura Liebeskind - Dionysos - Releasekonzert

In the organizer's words:

Laura Liebeskind, born in Leipzig, set out to unlearn fear. Her path led her via Hildesheim, Nancy, Berlin, Vienna, Glasgow, Hagen and Michigan, where she studied political science, philosophy, singing, dance and acting. Back in Leipzig, she released her double album "Das Glück" in 2021 in the Great Hall of the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, which was named Album of the Week by MDR Kultur in May 2022. After she was also allowed to travel to the coveted Celle School of the GEMA Foundation in the same year, Liebeskind immediately began writing her new album "Dionysos". Dionysus, the god of wine, orgiastic partying, chaos, abysses, but also creativity and sensuality, has occupied the artist for many years. And so "Dionysus" sharpens her eye for the burning contemporary issues that are often neglected in our everyday lives: Anti-democracy, misogyny, bullying, climate change, gender roles, wastefulness, war and yes, love and sexuality too.
Musically, she returns to the roots of her debut EP "Weiter", which she released at the Theater der Jungen Welt in 2016. The electronic sounds become eclectic soundscapes, which she has immersed in a cool bath of 80s and experimental joy with her Berlin producer team. "Stranger Things" and Björk meet contemporary pop music here.

Liebeskind is supported live by Dominique Ehlert on drums, Sascha Hühnermunds on synths and her favorite string quartet: The mondëna quartet around Shir-Ran Yinon.
